Vertical Flotation Melter (VFM)

Heat transfer coefficients are 10 times higher than that of a conventional furnace allowing rapid melting at a low gas temperature. Typical energy use is about 850 Btu/lbm with a metal yield of 97 to 98%. ERCo operates a 1,000 pph pilot-scale VFM for continual experimental development. Located in our Fayetteville facility, the VFM pilot-scale system is being used to melt and decoat a number of materials from customers.
